Happy One Year MexicanMananda

Well everyone, April was the month I began this blog. It looked rather different back then, being mainly about my new relationship (now also a year old) and finishing up school. I looked back at those April blogs and was a little envious of my nieve self. The self that had no idea what awaited her in Mexico. Those were some fun months leading up to me being here, I saw God's hand of providence in ways I had never known before and really felt the call to Mexico solidify. And now? Well now I can speak Spanish! That fact still amazes me.

Okay now its time to back track a bit again to fill you in on my life for the times I haven't written. This first blog is entitled...

"Just a Little Sicky"
Its probably really good that I'm writing this now, after being out of the sick phase for about a month. Now I can look back on it a little more easily. Oh how I wish I could share with you all the gory details, but that goes against my morals so here's the summary. I was sick to my stomach so went to the doctor, got some drugs, became sick in other ways, was extremely faint and feverish. I got better in the days to come, but suffered instead from some annoying side affects of drugs. From there everything reversed itself quite nicely just to go back again in a few days. So I got some different drugs. I am thinking Pharmacuetical (spelling?) companies should probably start sponsoring missionaries as they rely on them so much.

Anyways after those weeks of back and forth sickness I am doing good again. A little tired, but I hear that that is still normal while living in other cultures.

"McAllen is a Strange Name for a City in Mexico"
After I said that, Lisa Clarke kindly pointed out the boarder on the map and informed me that McAllen was actually in Texas. Maps and I don't neccessarily get a long. Anyways, this quote is from my boarder trip that I took mid-March to renew my tourist visa so I could remain in Mexico. I will fill you in on more details the next time I write, along with (I hope) a few little photos. Unfortunantly photos have still not been working for me or just take too long for me to be able to upload, and this is where those of you with technical know-how offer me advice... PLEASE!! I even tried uploading two today, and as you can see they are not here.
